Summertime highs at Big Meadows Reservoir mostly tend to be in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 30's. Through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's; after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Big Meadows Reservoir drop into the-10's. Get dripping wet paddling on Rio Grande, and swing by Black Creek it's a wonderful location to stop at. And if that's not enough there's lots more enjoyable stuff to do in

| | the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Stay the night at Park Creek Campground; Heart Mountain can be made out from Big Meadows Reservoir. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a spot to stay Allington Inn and Suites is a delightful choice. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Big Meadows Reservoir has to offer, you can camp at West Fork Campground. Lake Fork National Recreation Trail; a tremendous close by hotel is The Spruce Lodge. Now, you may think that's a lot but there's even more cool things to do here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. The Treasure Mountain Trail is
a great hiking trail close to Big Meadows Reservoir, and why not have a look at Big Meadows Dam while you're here. Big Meadows Reservoir is generally a quite dried up place; July is when you get the most rain here; June meanwhile
is the driest month. Having a pleasant time at Big Meadows Reservoir is uncomplicated. On a good day at Big Meadows Reservoir you can take a hike along the Highline Trail, and probably you're looking for nearby lakes? Sure, Pass Creek
Lake is just a very short distance away. Paddling on Wolf Creek is so much fun, and if you've had enough of Big Meadows Reservoir, Shaw Lake is nearby. The San Juan and Jemez Mountains scenery is always beautiful.
