West Fork Campground is a glorious campground nearby, and if you've had enough of Big Meadows Reservoir, Shaw Lake is close by. This lake is so wonderful. You don’t have to go far from Big Meadows Reservoir to catch a sight of the water at Big Meadows Dam, and at Big Meadows Reservoir you can catch a sight of Heart Mountain. In case you don’t mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Wolf Creek, and of course Black Creek                  flows through this region. Yep, outdoors exciting stuff truly is bountiful here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains.
