If you are in Eagle county it's always a good idea to stop by Big Lake. This location, the Sawatch Range, has so much outdoors exciting things. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop by close by Gold Dust Lakes; Big Lake is right by the Lake Charles Trail. At Big Lake during the warmest time of the year highs are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 40's. High temperatures all through the winter are normally in the 30's,

| | and nighttime lows at Big Lake throughout the wintertime usually fall into the 0's. Big Lake is located in the Sawatch Range. If you came for an overnight stay Yeoman Park Campground is a pleasant place to camp, and hiking along the Ironedge Trail is great fun. surroundings of Big Lake is Eagle Peak, and if you need a location to stay The Pines Lodge is a glorious choice. If you go for the outdoors you'll go for it here in the Sawatch Range. Camping is available at Fulford Cave Campground,
and if you're here at Big Lake it's a brilliant idea to stop by Negro Basin. This lake is so wonderful. There's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Beaver Creek, and dry warm beds await you at Hyatt Mountain Lodge. Big
Lake gets very little rainfall; all through the month of July you get the most rain around here; February on the other hand is the driest. Yep, outdoors enjoyable stuff to do are in fact plentiful here at Big Lake. There's whitewater
on Fryingpan River for all you adrenaline junkies; you can hit the slopes at Vail close by. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes are wonderful; Horseshoe Lake is a lake that's close to Big Lake, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Eagle River.

 | 14 miles away Beautiful drive up to Lede Reservoir. We started in Eagle and took Sylvan Lake road all the way past the lake and then took a right at the first intersection. After climbing up and around the peak in front of us we were upon some huge rolling meadows that were among the forrests. A slight drop down into the valley on the west side of the mountains and a left turn lead us to the reservoir. It is a great spot with some fishing paths around the water and a number of campsites as well. We continued west to Gypsum Creek Road and a short drive back to the town of Gypsum.... |
