Big Creek Reservoir is pretty arid generally; the wettest month of the year is generally August, that's the one that rains the most, and June meanwhile is the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. Near Big Creek Reservoir you stumble on the Gill Creek Trail which is a splendid hiking trail, and if you came for an overnight stay Hay Press Campground is a brilliant spot to camp. All through the summer months at       Big Creek Reservoir highs are typically in the 90's, and during the night it cools down to the 60's. For the period of the winter the highs are regularly in the 40's with temperatures at Big Creek Reservoir dipping down into the 10's through winter nights. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors cool stuff the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains has to offer.
