What a nice lake Big Creek Lakes is. This lake is one of the great places here in the Park Range. Be careful coming to Big Creek Lakes, you might not ever want to go home again. Go for a hike on the Fryingpan Trail, and Twisty Park is an interesting swamp right next door to Big Creek Lakes. This lake is so wonderful. Big Creek Lakes is not the only place close by, Blue Lake is a close by lake.
Don't leave Big Creek Lakes without first going for a hike along

| | the Blue Lake Trail; Big Creek Lakes is brilliant enough to spend more than a day at, Beaver Creek Campground is a brilliant local campground. So much entertaining stuff to do in the Park Range, not sufficient time. There's so much to do here at Big Creek Lakes that you need to camp here for a while, Lakeside Campground is a fine location for that It's always great to stop at Big Creek Falls. the Big Creek Trail, and a lake close by is Lake Eileen.
Big Creek Lakes gets very little precipitation; the wettest month of the year is typically April, that's the one that rains the most while January is the month with the
least amount of precipitation. This site, the Park Range, has so much outdoors fun stuff. If you don't mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Encampment River, and Western Lodge is a great location to get some
rest. North Platte River is a nice whitewater spot close to Big Creek Lakes, and a magnificent nearby hotel is CrossTimbers at Steamboat.
The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 70's to Big Creek Lakes, and through summer
nights temperatures are in the 40's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's, and nighttime lows in the 10's for Big Creek Lakes.
