During the months of summer, highs regularly are in the 70's at Big Alkali Lake. All through the moonlight hours it's regularly in the 40's. High temperatures       through the wintertime are normally in the 30's; winter nights come with lows in the-10's to Big Alkali Lake. On a great day at Big Alkali Lake you can take a hike along the Onemile Cattle Trail; if you like skiing, you're in luck; Irwin Lodge is quite near. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Big Alkali Lake you can take a hike along the Lowline Trail, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always check out nearby Red Mountain                  Lake. In the event that you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Gunnison River. Lakes? Sure, Lake Grant is in close proximity. Not much rain falls here at Big Alkali Lake; the month with most of the rain is August; February meanwhile is the driest month. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors amusing stuff the area close to Big Alkali Lake has to offer. Whitewater paddling is brilliant on East River, and dry warm beds await you at Crested Butte Lodge and Hostel. This lake is so wonderful.
