It's always fun to stop by Big Alkali Lake. The Onemile Cattle Trail is a great hiking trail in close proximity to Big Alkali Lake; paddling on Gunnison River is so much fun. If you need a place to stay Purple Mountain Lodge B&B-Spa is a fine choice, and the top of Red Mountain is easily made out from Big Alkali Lake. Around Big Alkali Lake you don’t get a lot of rain; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest of the months is February.

This place rules, just check out all the amusing stuff to do in the neighborhood of Big Alkali Lake. day you can take a hike along the Lowline Trail.
Head up to Irwin Lodge and strap some skis to your feet, and if the weather is great, you can go for a hike along the Granite Basin Trail. The snow is delightful at Aspen Highlands;
there are other places here than Big Alkali Lake, for example Red Mountain Lake. High temperatures at Big Alkali Lake through the months of summer are in the 70's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 40's. Throughout the winter
highs are in the 30's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Big Alkali Lake drop into the-10's.
