It is very dried up here at Betty Lake commonly; August is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month is June. Summer brings highs in the 70's to Betty Lake, and throughout the night it cools down to the 40's. Throughout the winter the highs are typically in the 30's with temperatures at Betty Lake dipping down into the 0's during winter nights. Life's too short to enjoy all the enjoyable       stuff in the San Juan Mountains. The Whitehead Trail offers hiking at its best, and Cascade Village is a brilliant place to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always take a look at close by Annie Lakes; one of the overriding characteristics of the surroundings of Betty Lake is Buffalo Peak. So many entertaining things in the San Juan Mountains, just mind-boggling. Betty Lake is a perfect place to                  camp, Pine River Campground is a perfect place. But wait, there's more to do close to Betty Lake. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Kendall Mountain, and a magnificent place for whitewater paddling is Vallecito Creek. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Deer Park Trail; Vallecito Campground is a nice campground here. Betty Lake is one of the lakes here in the San Juan Mountains.
