Go to Benito Lake if you want to go to a nice lake. Benito Lake gets very little rain; the wettest month of the year is mostly August, that's the one that rains the most; the driest month of the year is February. The view of La Garita Peak from Benito Lake is gorgeous, and getting to Benito Creek from Benito Lake is trouble-free. This lake is so wonderful.

Having a perfect time at Benito Lake is simple. Paddling on Rio Grande is so much fun, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Farmers Creek Trail. There's no way anyone can get bored here
in the San Juan Mountains. It's always great to visit Saguache Falls; if you came for an overnight stay Palisade Campground is a splendid spot to camp. The San Juan Mountains scenery is always beautiful.

Benito Lake temperatures are generally in the 70's, and all through the night it cools down to the 40's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's; all through the dark hours in the winter at Benito Lake temperatures dip to the-10's.
