This site, the Sangre De Cristo Mountains,       has so much outdoors enjoyable stuff. The Venable-Comanche Trail offers hiking at its best, and you're perhaps hooked on lakes, South Colony Lakes is one of those nearby. Around Bench Lake you don’t get a lot of rainfall; the month with most of the rain is August, and the driest month is January. Throughout the summer at Bench Lake highs are ordinarily in the 80's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 40's. Through the wintertime highs are commonly                  in the 30's; winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Bench Lake. This lake is so wonderful. If time allows, Great Sand Dunes National Monument is a national park worth taking a look at, and Broken Hand Peak can be observed from Bench Lake.
