This lake is so wonderful. Interesting geology is available here; Copperstain Cliff is near Bench Lake, and if you haven’t been to Great Sand Dunes National Monument, you must schedule some time for it since you're here. AppleLodge Bed And Breakfast is a fine site to get some rest. Lakes? Sure, South Colony Lakes is in the vicinity. Just can't get enough of Bench Lake. Bench Lake is a great place to visit for more than one day,       Grape Creek RV Park and Campground is a great place to camp nearby, and you can go for a hike on the Rainbow Trail. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always take a look at close by North Colony Lakes, and glorious hiking is available along the Loop Trail. Bench Lake is pretty waterless typically; most of the rain falls through August, and January is when it's the driest. Bench Lake is a beautiful lake in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains.                  Summertime highs at Bench Lake ordinarily tend to be in the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 40's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 30's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Bench Lake temperatures sink to the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. Whohoo, so many entertaining things in one place! The Sangre De Cristo Mountains is peerless! You get a brilliant vista of Broken Hand Peak from Bench Lake, and Macey Falls is a good local attraction. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors amusing things the Sangre De Cristo Mountains has to offer.
