Now, you may imagine that's heaps but there's even more amusing things to do here in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. Twin Lakes Dam is a place that is close to Beaver Reservoir, and if you've had enough of Beaver Reservoir, Twin Lakes Reservoir is close by. This lake is so wonderful. Everybody loves       Cottonwood Basin. Around Beaver Reservoir you don’t get a lot of precipitation; most of the rain falls throughout October, and June is when it's the driest. Whohoo, so much enjoyable stuff in one place! The Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains is great! Get yourself into a kayak and hit San Miguel River, and there are wonderful sites to look at along the Cottonwood Trail. A magnificent nearby hotel is Best Western Sundance, and camping is available at T Bone Spring                  Campground. You could also check out Twin Lake while you're here at Beaver Reservoir; it's close by, and you can go for a hike on the Monitor Mesa Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Moore Mesa Trail, and a great place to camp here at Beaver Reservoir is Smokehouse Campground. High temperatures at Beaver Reservoir throughout the months of summer are in the 90's with overnight lows in the 50's. Highs throughout the wintertime are regularly in the 30's; nighttime lows at Beaver Reservoir during the wintertime commonly dip into the 10's.
