It is very arid here at Beaver Reservoir usually; October is when you get the most rain here, and June meanwhile is the driest month. But wait, there's more fun things to do in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. You'll hit upon a wonderful lake called Middle Monitor Reservoir near Beaver Reservoir, and there are some glorious whitewater spots on San Miguel River. Having a       brilliant time in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains is simple. T Bone Spring Campground is a good local campground; Cottonwood Basin is right here at Beaver Reservoir. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Beaver Reservoir you can take a hike along the Cottonwood Trail. Beaver Reservoir is one of the lakes here in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. Summer brings highs in the 90's to Beaver Reservoir. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 50's. Daytime                  highs throughout the winter are in the 30's, and night lows through the winter for Beaver Reservoir tend to be in the 10's. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors exciting things the area right next door to Beaver Reservoir has to offer. There is a fine hiking trail close to Beaver Reservoir called the Moore Mesa Trail; if you come at the right time of year, Escalante Creek offers some brilliant whitewater. This lake is so wonderful. If you came for an overnight stay Smokehouse Campground is a great place to camp, and Best Western Sundance is a nice location to get some rest. On a glorious day at Beaver Reservoir you can take a hike along the Monitor Mesa Trail; Twin Lakes Dam is not far at all from Beaver Reservoir.
