You'll hit upon a striking lake called Gordon Reservoir near Beaver Reservoir, and some close by water includes Turkey Creek. Man, is there a heap of enjoyable things to do near Beaver Reservoir. Dry warm beds await you at Days Inn Cortez; Dolores River has a tremendous whitewater paddling spot close by. | | stop at lovely Carlyle Reservoir, and if the weather is delightful, you can go for a hike along the Stoner Stock Trail. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Beaver Reservoir. For the period of the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 50's. High temperatures throughout the wintertime are normally in the 30's, and after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Beaver Reservoir sink into the 10's. Park is a great place. On a good day at Beaver Reservoir you can take a hike along the McPhee Stock Trail. There's so much to do here at Beaver Reservoir that you need to camp here for a while, Emerson Campground is a great place
for that. This lake is so wonderful. Rusty Spring is an inspiring location to stop at during your stay; needless to say, A trip to Long Draw is always fun. Stay the night at The Forks Campground, and Dunton Hot Springs is a tremendous place to get some rest.

Puett Reservoir
 | 11 miles away A.M. Puett Reservoir was originally constructed in 1905, and then reconstructed in 1960. It contains 163 surface acres when full and is owned and operated by the Summit Reservoir and Irrigation Company. The lake is stocked with fish by the Colorado Division of Wildlife and open for public fishing from the bank and from trolling motor powered boats. No swimming is allowed. The lake is on private land and access is limited to 3 feet above the high water line.... |
Summit Reservoir
 | 11 miles away Summit Lake was constructed in 1905 and reconstructed and enlarged in 1938. It is owned and operated by the Summit Reservoir and Irrigation Company. It contains 402 surfqace acres when full. The lake is stocked with fish by the Colorado Division of Wildlife (DOW) and open for public fishing. Public access is from highway 184 on the north side of the lake. There is a boat ramp. Fishing is allowed from the bank or from hand powered or trolling motor powered boats only. The public access is maintained by the DOW. The only facilities present is a boat ramp and a pit toilet. No fires, swimming or overnight camping is allowed.... |

 | 17 miles away We stayed in this campground mid-July 2006. Very efficient, friendly park. Adequate power, water, and sewage hookups. Rates were reasonable; and the manager did indicate that longer stays were discounted. Nice fenced dog run for our puppies to enjoy. The microbrewery in town has a wide selection of locally made beverages. I would gladly stop at La Mesa RV Park again.... |
