The Gilpin Trail offers hiking at its best; Steamboat is a good local ski area. Beaver Lake is a beautiful lake in the Park Range. This lake is so wonderful. At Beaver Lake you don’t see much rain; during December this area sees the most snow while August is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Be careful coming to Beaver Lake, you might not ever want to return back home again. There's so much to       do here at Beaver Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Hinman Campground is a good place for that; if you need a spot to stay Western Lodge is a good choice. These mountains rock, just look at all the cool stuff to do in the Park Range. Lakes? Sure, North Lake is in close proximity, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Beaver Lake; North Lake Trail is a tremendous local trail. Dry warm beds await you at CrossTimbers at Steamboat, and the slopes                  of Howelsen Hill are so inviting noone can resist. If you want a nice time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Park Range. Beaver Lake is glorious enough to spend more than a day at, Helena Campground is a glorious local campground; whitewater paddling is great on Elk River. This lake is so wonderful. There's tremendous hiking along the Three Island Lake Trail, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop by close by Three Island Lake. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Beaver Lake. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 40's.
