Beaver Lake is a nice lake to visit. Good hiking is available along the New York Mountain Trail, and camping is available at Fulford Cave Campground. This lake is one of the great places here in the Sawatch Range. These mountains rock, just explore all the enjoyable stuff to do in the Sawatch Range. Dry warm beds await you at Hyatt Mountain Lodge; whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Eagle River.
This lake is

so wonderful. Here at Beaver Lake you'll probably meet some folks from Edwards, and an afternoon playing golf at Beaver Creek Golf Course is always a delight. You truly have to like the Sawatch Range. Get your pulse rate up on the delightful whitewater of Cross Creek, and everyone loves McCoy Park. If you need a location to stay Park Hyatt Beaver Creek Resort And Spa is a glorious choice, and a lake close by is Waterdog Lake.
Beaver Lake is regularly a

reasonably waterless place; the month of July is the wettest with most of the rain; February is when it's the driest. What a spot this is for outdoors folks. If you like skiing, you're in luck; Beaver Creek is in the neighborhood of Beaver Lake, and Beaver Lake is not the only spot nearby, Olsen Lake is a nearby lake. All through the summer, highs mostly are in the 80's at Beaver Lake. Summer nighttime lows dip down to the 40's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 30's, and night lows at Beaver Lake all through the winter commonly sink into the 0's.
Beaver Lake really is in the middle of a pretty outdoors paradise. This lake is so wonderful. Vail is a wonderful local ski area, and don't leave Beaver Lake without first going for a hike along the Lake Creek Trail. Go for a hike on the Half Moon Trail; a good spot to camp here at Beaver Lake is Half Moon Campground.

At the gate you leave the world behind. Nestled at the feet of North America's World Cup mountain, Beaver Creek is a custom-designed resort with the safe, unhurried feel of an Alpine hamlet. From the skating rink in the village square to chocolate-chip cookies served fresh from the oven each afternoon at the lifts, and from the ''Ivy League ski school'' to the world-famous performing arts center, this is perhaps the very best of luxury family skiing. And there is a mountain of prestigious awards for food, wine, and customer service to prove it....

LEDE Reservoir
17 miles away
Beautiful drive up to Lede Reservoir.  We started in Eagle and took Sylvan Lake road all the way past the lake and then took a right at the first intersection.  After climbing up and around the peak in front of us we were upon some huge rolling meadows that were among the forrests.  A slight drop down into the valley on the west side of the mountains and a left turn lead us to the reservoir.  It is a great spot with some fishing paths around the water and a number of campsites as well.  We continued west to Gypsum Creek Road and a short drive back to the town of Gypsum....

Upper Piney Lake
17 miles away
We had a great time hiking to Upper Piney Lake over 4th of July weekend, 2006. Although the views are out of this world, the hike will take everything out of you that you've got. I would highly recommend this hike. Make sure you have everything you need for AT LEAST 2 days. The hike to Upper Piney will take 8 hours (all up hill)...But only 4 hours to get back to Piney River Ranch....

...rest Service to establish parameters and guidelines for the ski area. Chuck was both a renegade and a visionary. During the summer of '71, initial construction began on the ski trails. Today, Chuck’s dream is alive and well.

As stated in a 1969 US Forest Service report, if there were a mountain that had terrain for skiing it would be Copper Mountain. It is the most nearly perfect ski mountain in the U. S. Over the years, new lifts were added and Copper grew to its current size of 2,465 acres. What was once a sleepy little day ski area is now one of Colorado's premier year-round destination resorts. In 1997, the resort was purchased by Intrawest - a worldwide leader in resort operations and real estate development.

Now the resort consists of not only an incredible mountain, but multiple villages, hundreds of buildings and a million other tangible, moving pieces. Copper is, and always has been, bigger than the tangible. Copper is about people. It’s about spirit. It’s about attitude, passion, heart, guest loyalty and financial strength. It’s about a place that provides a t...
