Don't leave Beaver Lake without first going for a hike along the Notch Trail; Narrow Gauge RR Inn is a pleasant place to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Take a little tour to South Elk Creek if you're here at Beaver Lake. And if that's not enough there's lots more enjoyable stuff to do in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. A perfect       nearby hotel is Branding Iron Motel; if you come at the right time of year, Rio de los Pinos offers some good whitewater. A lot of rain falls at Beaver Lake; the wettest month of the year is mostly March, that's the one that snows the most; June is when it's the driest. Beaver Lake is located in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Whohoo, so much amusing stuff in one place! Beaver Lake is excellent! A great place to camp here at Beaver Lake is Conejos Campground;                  get yourself into a kayak and hit Conejos River. Beaver Lake is not the only place nearby, Duck Lake is a nearby lake; you can go for a hike on the Red Lake Trail. Going for a hike on the Posos Trail is always a good adventure, and a lake nearby is Rock Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Beaver Lake is fine enough to spend more than a day at, Spectacle Lake Campground is a fine local campground; a delightful place like First Meadows here at Beaver Lake is too splendid to miss. Throughout the summertime months at Beaver Lake temperatures are frequently in the 60's. Summer overnight lows fall down to the 40's.
