This is no place for people who don’t like to have a good time. Having a fine time in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains is simple. Conejos Campground is a great campground nearby, and there's delightful hiking along the Notch Trail. This lake is one of the great places here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Summertime at Beaver Lake comes with high temperatures in the 60's, and       all through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. For the period of the winter this place gets highs in the 30's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Beaver Lake. Spectacle Lake Campground is a delightful local campground; hiking is a popular thing to do around Beaver Lake; Posos Trail is a fine local trail. The high level of precipitation makes Beaver Lake a quite wet place; the month of March is the wettest with most of the snow, and the driest of                  the months is June. There's whitewater on Rio de los Pinos for all you thrill seekers, and if you need a place to stay Branding Iron Motel is a fine choice. This lake is so wonderful.
