There are nice sites to explore along the Service Creek Trail; you can stay the night at Stagecoach. Howelsen Hill is a very popular ski area in the vicinity, and dry warm beds await you at Oak Tree Inn Yampa. Not much rainfall falls here at Bear Lake; throughout the month of March you get the most snow around here, and June meanwhile is the driest month.

lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Muddy Slide Trail is always a pleasant adventure. There's so much to do here at Bear Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Steamboat Springs Koa Steamboat Springs Koa is a delightful
place for that. Paddling on Elk River is so much fun, and Thorpe Mountain is beautiful and can be made out from here. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. Head up to Steamboat and strap some skis to your feet, and nearby you discover the Ute Trail which is a nice hiking trail.
