This lake is one of the great places here in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Not much rainfall falls here at Bear Lake; August is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest of the months is January. Now, you may think that's a lot but there's even more entertaining stuff to do here at Bear Lake. Blue Lakes Campground is a tremendous campground here. This lake is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Indian Creek       Trail, and if you like skiing, you're in luck; Eldora is relatively near. If you want a wonderful time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. If you need a place to stay Rio Cucharas Inn And Restaurant is a good choice, and if you came for an overnight stay Bear Lake Campground is a good site to camp. Going for a hike on the Peaks Trail is always a wonderful adventure; on a beautiful day you acquire a wonderful panorama of Steep                  Mountain from Bear Lake. Throughout the summer at Bear Lake temperatures are frequently in the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 40's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's with winter lows in the-10's overnight here at Bear Lake.
