Going for a hike on the Elk Park Trail is always a splendid adventure, and do visit Crawford Reservoir, it's a gorgeous lake. Baxter Reservoir gets very little rain; the month with most of the rain is October, and June on the other hand is the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Not far from Baxter Reservoir you obtain some glorious water scenery at Baxter Dam, and glide down the rapids of Gunnison       River in a kayak.
