If you come at the right time of year, Cache La Poudre River - North Fork offers some great whitewater, and do go to Elder Reservoir, it's a charming lake. Not much precipitation falls here at Bartel Reservoir; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest of the months is February. This lake is so wonderful. Here at Bartel Reservoir you'll perhaps meet some people       from Fort Collins-Loveland; glide down the rapids of Cache La Poudre River in a kayak. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Bartel Reservoir. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's while Bartel Reservoir nighttime low temperatures through the winter are in the 10's. There's so much to do here at Bartel Reservoir that you need to camp here for a while, Fort Collins North/wellington                  is a perfect spot for that; you can go for a hike on the Wintersteen Trail. National 9 Motel is a nice spot to get some rest, and an afternoon playing golf at Mountain Vista Golf Course is always a delight. If you need a site to stay Fort Collins Super 8 Motel is a brilliant choice; brilliant hiking is available along the Greyrock Trail. And if that's not sufficient, there's a heap more to do near Bartel Reservoir. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Bartel Reservoir has to offer, you can camp at Ft Collins N/Wellington KOA; there's always Elder Dam to take a look at close to Bartel Reservoir.
