At Barren Lake you don’t see much precipitation; during October this area sees the most rain while January is frequently the driest month. During the warmest time of the year at Barren Lake highs are ordinarily in the 90's, and during the night it cools down to the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's while the cold winter nights at Barren Lake are in the 10's. If you came for an       overnight stay Kiser Creek Campground is a great place to camp, and a day on the slopes of Powderhorn is just what you need. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a location to stay Comfort Inn Delta is a tremendous choice, and don't leave Barren Lake without first going for a hike along the Lily Lake Trail. If you get bored of Barren Lake, you could also explore nearby Alexander Lake; you can go for a hike on the Crag Crest Trail. Eggleston Campground is                  a great campground here, and after a long day outdoors Howard Johnson Express - Cedaredge is a good location to spend a night or two. Any time is a good time at Barren Lake if you go for the outdoors.
