Barnes Reservoir gets very little precipitation; throughout the month of October you get the most rain around here, and the driest of the months is January. This lake is so wonderful. Kannah Creek is a wonderful whitewater spot near Barnes Reservoir. For the duration of the months of summer at Barnes Reservoir temperatures are regularly in the 90's; the overnight       is quite cooler of course, regularly in the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's, and nighttime lows in the 10's for Barnes Reservoir. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the amusing stuff at Barnes Reservoir. There are other places here than Barnes Reservoir, for example Stump Pond, and the slopes of Powderhorn are so inviting nobody can resist. A cool spot to check out near Barnes Reservoir is Spruce Point, and after                  a long day outdoors Howard Johnson Express - Cedaredge is a great location to spend a night or two. Camping is available at Glacier Spring Campground, and there's glorious hiking along the Godding Eisberry Grade. This lake is so wonderful. Camping at Jumbo Reservoir Campground is always a fine experience, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Barnes Reservoir; Deep Creek Trail is a glorious local trail.
