to Bar-Bel Lake, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always visit nearby Peltier Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Rodeway Inn, and there's whitewater on White River - South Fork for
all you adrenaline rush seekers. No need to travel far to check out out of the ordinary stuff like Langlas Bench, and a great place to visit is Bear Gulch. Bar-Bel Lake gets very little rain; the month with most of the rain is October while January is generally the driest month.

Elk lakes are located about 5 minutes from the wilderness area only 1/2 mile to the parking for jet lakes.... some colorado wild flowers... |

Definatly a 4 wheel drive Jeep Trail but only a few miles from Elk lakes, Jet lake, Shadow Lake, Blair lakes , Crater Lake, Deep lake and bison lake. Lots of Cut throat trout, rainbows and browns.
