     This lake is one of the great places here in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. And if that's not sufficient there's loads more amusing things to do in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Good hiking is available along the Lake of the Clouds Trail, and Big Branch is right here at Banjo Lake. A magnificent location to camp here at Banjo Lake is North Crestone Campground, and a quick journey to Middle Fork Cotton Creek is undeniably a great idea.
Banjo Lake beyond doubt
 
   is in the middle of a picturesque outdoors paradise. Banjo Lake is brilliant enough to spend more than a day at, Lake Creek Campground is a brilliant local campground, and you'll stumble on a delightful lake called South Branch Lake. Go for a hike on the Cotton Trail, and while you're here, you could also visit scenic Brush Creek Lakes. Banjo Lake is a location that is rather dried up mostly; through the month of August you get the most rain around here; the driest  
               of the months is January.
For the duration of the summertime highs here at Banjo Lake get into the 80's, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. All through the winter highs are usually in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Banjo Lake are in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. A delightful nearby hotel is AppleLodge Bed And Breakfast. This lake is so wonderful. The vista of gorgeous De Anza Peak near Banjo Lake is great; nearby Henderson Gulch is a perfect place to go.
Just can't get enough of the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Going for a hike on the Crossover Trail is always a magnificent adventure; if you don't mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Arkansas River.

Trail is awful, disappearing and reappearing every now and again. Thorn bushes and trash cover what little trail is easy to navigate. Trail disappears completely before you actually reach the lake. Also it appears that an axe murderer has taken up residence in the upperwoods. Be careful and travel in large groups if you plan to try and make it to the lake. It is easy to get lost so mark your trail well....
