What a nice lake Banjo Lake is. The Sangre De Cristo Mountains scenery is always beautiful. If you want a tremendous time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Going for a hike along the Lake of the Clouds Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area; there are some fine whitewater spots on Arkansas River. Not far from Banjo Lake, you'll come across Brush Creek Lakes which is a picturesque lake, and Big Branch

 | 10 miles away Trail is awful, disappearing and reappearing every now and again. Thorn bushes and trash cover what little trail is easy to navigate. Trail disappears completely before you actually reach the lake. Also it appears that an axe murderer has taken up residence in the upperwoods. Be careful and travel in large groups if you plan to try and make it to the lake. It is easy to get lost so mark your trail well.... |
