The beauty of Balman Reservoir is reason enough to stop by. Balman Reservoir is good enough to spend more than a day at, Bighorn Rv Park is a good local campground, and why not take a little trip to North Lake Creek if you're here. For the period of the summer months here at Balman Reservoir, high temperatures ordinarily get into the 80's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. This site, the Sangre De Cristo Mountains, has so much outdoors enjoyable stuff. Looking for something in close proximity to Balman Reservoir? Rainbow Lake is close at hand; going for a hike on the Rainbow Trail is always a pleasant
adventure. Not far from Balman Reservoir you get some nice water scenery at Balman Dam, and don't leave Balman Reservoir without first going for a hike along the Cotton Trail. Balman Reservoir is frequently a rather dehydrated location;
most of the rain falls during August, and January is the month with the least moisture. Balman Reservoir is one of the lakes here in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains.

 | 14 miles away Trail is awful, disappearing and reappearing every now and again. Thorn bushes and trash cover what little trail is easy to navigate. Trail disappears completely before you actually reach the lake. Also it appears that an axe murderer has taken up residence in the upperwoods. Be careful and travel in large groups if you plan to try and make it to the lake. It is easy to get lost so mark your trail well.... |
