So many entertaining things in close proximity to Balman Reservoir, definitely amazing. Balman Reservoir is a good place to camp, Lake Creek Campground is a good place, and don't forget to take a tremendous little tour to North Lake Creek. Man, is there a lot of entertaining things to do in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. While you're here at Balman Reservoir you can take a hike along the Cotton Trail, and after       a long day outdoors Salida-Days Inn is a magnificent site to spend a night or two. Balman Reservoir is a beautiful lake in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. There are other places here than Balman Reservoir, for example Rainbow Lake, and you can have a great hiking adventure along the Crossover Trail. You can take a little trip to Balman Dam if you're here at Balman Reservoir, and a delightful place for whitewater paddling is Arkansas                  River. Balman Reservoir is typically a reasonably arid location; most of the rain falls throughout August, and the driest of the months is January. So much exciting stuff to do here in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains, too tremendous to be true. You can run the rapids of Arkansas River close to Balman Reservoir. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Balman Reservoir, and through the night it cools down to the 40's. Highs all through the winter are regularly in the 40's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Balman Reservoir descend into the 10's. Hiking along the Rainbow Trail is good fun.
