Beautiful Baldwin Lake has much to offer visitors. This lake is so wonderful. Camping is available at Angel of Shavano Campground. All the outdoors fun stuff in the Sawatch Range will keep you coming back many times. A great location to camp here at Baldwin Lake is Garfield Campground, and the Texas Creek Trail is a pleasant hiking trail nearby. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Sawatch Range. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by

Through the warmest time of the year here at Baldwin Lake, high temperatures usually get into the 70's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 30's. High temperatures during the wintertime are normally in the 20's, and night lows in the-20's for Baldwin Lake. the Browns Creek Trail. You believe that's sufficient? Just getting warmed up. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Arkansas River, and on a magnificent day you can take a hike along the Fooses
Creek Trail.
A nice close by hotel is Buena Vista Super 8 Motel, and Billings Lake is a nearby lake that you could explore. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Best Western Vista Inn is a delightful place to spend
a night or two; the sight of Boulder Mountain is beautiful. Baldwin Lake is a location that is rather dehydrated usually; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain; the driest of the months is June.
The Sawatch Range scenery is always beautiful.

...ntral Colorado, well south of the freeway madness that gridlocks Interstate 70 from Denver to the Front Range resorts each weekend. Located on Highway 50 on the Continental Divide, Monarch is very accessible. It's also one of the oldest ski areas in Colorado, established in 1939.
Monarch Mountain is what you expect from a real Colorado ski area. Abundant natural snow (350+ inches) and friendly people are two of our strongest attributes. You can walk from your car right to the lifts, prices are reasonable, and the runs flow naturally back to the base area. At Monarch you'll lose the crowds but not your friends.
Monarch is a family favorite because of great snow conditions and easy access to the mountain. Having one base area makes it convenient to drop off the little ones in the Children's Center, pick-up rental equipment, sign up for ski school and get on the slopes in a timely manner. Lift lines are a rarity and you will regularly find ski runs to yourself.
