If you need a location to stay Americas Best Value Inn Rifle is a great choice, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Bailey Reservoir; Monument Trail is a brilliant local trail. There are other places here than Bailey Reservoir, for example Hanson Reservoir, and dry warm beds await you at Howard Johnson Express - Cedaredge. This lake is so wonderful. There's tremendous hiking along the East Leon Trail, and Doughty Mountain is clearly visible from Bailey Reservoir.
