A splendid place to camp here at Ault Reservoir is Dyke Creek Campground, and don't leave Ault Reservoir without first going for a hike along the Terror Trail. Camping is available at Crystal Meadows Ranch, and Aspen Leaf Reservoir is a nearby lake that you could check out. You simply must fancy Ault Reservoir. There's nice hiking along the Hammond Trail; after a long day outdoors Sunlight Mountain       Inn is a pleasant spot to spend a night or two. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Crystal River, and at Ault Dam in the vicinity of Ault Reservoir there are some interesting things to see. There are some glorious whitewater spots on Gunnison River - North Fork; Ault Creek is close to Ault Reservoir and is always a bliss to pop by. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Ault Reservoir; the overnight is a little                  chillier of course, commonly in the 50's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 30's; winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Ault Reservoir. The amount of rainfall that falls at Ault Reservoir is close to the national average; March is the wettest month with most rain while June is usually the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. A nice view of scenic Sheep Mountain is available from Ault Reservoir, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Ault Reservoir; Sunset Trail is a nice local trail. This lake is so wonderful.
