Arnold Reservoir gets very little rainfall; October is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month is June. All our national parks are great places to stop by, and Hovenweep National Monument is no exception, and you might also want to pay a visit to Alkali Canyon if you're here at Arnold Reservoir. If the weather is gorgeous, you obtain a magnificent panorama of Ormiston Point from Arnold Reservoir,       and there are other locations here than Arnold Reservoir, for example Ancil Reservoir. No way I can stop, cause I'm havin' a splendid time here at Arnold Reservoir. Dolores River has a magnificent whitewater paddling spot nearby, and if you need a place to stay Historic Rio Grande Southern is a fine choice. High temperatures at Arnold Reservoir through the summertime months are in the 80's while overnight lows are usually in the 50's. The wintertime comes                  with highs in the 30's; during the dark hours in the wintertime at Arnold Reservoir temperatures fall to the 10's. Camping at Lazy G Campground is always a nice experience. This lake is so wonderful. If you came to camp Mc Phee Mobile Home and RV Park is a fine place to do that, and going for a hike on the Ormiston Point Stock Driveway is always a nice adventure. After a long day outdoors Lost Canyon Ranch is a wonderful place to spend a night or two, and there are splendid spots to explore along the McPhee Stock Trail.   Dunton Hot Springs, Dolores 17 miles away This perfectly restored ghost town thrives on contradictions, hand-hewn log cabins exquisitely furnished, a life-worn saloon serving food of startling quality, lung torturing trails followed by pamper...
