The warmest time of the year at Aqua Fria Reservoir arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 40's. All through the winter the highs are frequently in the 20's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Aqua Fria Reservoir fall into the-10's. Aqua Fria Reservoir is a beautiful lake in the Park Range. There's no way anybody       can get bored here in the Park Range. There's so much to do here at Aqua Fria Reservoir that you need to camp here for a while, Grizzly Creek Campground is a nice location for that, and you can hit the slopes at Howelsen Hill close at hand. This lake is so wonderful. This lake is so wonderful. There's fine hiking along the Newcomb Creek Trail, and dry warm beds await you at Western Lodge. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Aqua Fria Reservoir; Lost Ranger                  Trail is a great local trail; Thunderhead Lodge And Condominiums is a great spot to get some rest. Yep, outdoors enjoyable stuff truly is abundant here in the Park Range. Whitewater paddling is tremendous on Elk River; nice hiking is available along the Rainbow Lake Trail. Aqua Fria Reservoir is pretty waterless usually; during the month of December you get the most snow around here; the driest month is August. This is no spot for people who don’t like to have a good time. Agua Fria Lake is a nearby lake that you could go to; if you came to camp Summit Lake Campground is a glorious spot to do that.
