Apache Reservoir is a location that is relatively waterless mostly; August is when you get the most rain here while January is ordinarily the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Days Inn Alamosa, and Twin Lakes is a delightful lake nearby. Narrow Gauge RR Inn is a tremendous place to get some rest. Why not camp at Rio Costilla Park       while you're here at Apache Reservoir, and drift down the rapids of Rio Grande in a kayak. For the duration of the summer highs here at Apache Reservoir get into the 80's, and the nighttime is a bit colder of course, ordinarily in the 40's.
