Lake Ann is a nice lake to visit. Lake Ann is one of the lakes here in the Sawatch Range. For the duration of the summer at Lake Ann temperatures are frequently in the 70's; all through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. For the duration of the winter this place gets highs in the 30's; nighttime lows during the winter for Lake Ann tend to be in the 0's. A gorgeous lake like Lois Lake in the vicinity of Lake Ann is a good place to stop by, and a wonderful

| | spot to camp here at Lake Ann is Colorado Dream Ranch Recreational Vehicle Park. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes are such calm places, why not stop at Texas Lakes near Lake Ann, and from Lake Ann you get a fine panorama of Granite Mountain. Around Lake Ann you don’t get a lot of rain; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain, and February meanwhile is the driest month. Just can't get enough of the Sawatch Range. at its best; Ski Cooper has tremendous slopes and a friendly staff. This lake is so wonderful. The Alpenblick By Aspen Lodging Company is a great location to get some rest, and Clear Creek is a great whitewater spot nearby. And
that's not everything there is to do here in the Sawatch Range. In the event that you don't mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Lake Creek; pleasant hiking is available along the Timberline Trail.
A visit to Harrison Flat revives the soul; dry warm beds await you at Super 8 Motel - Leadville. Life's too short to enjoy all the fun things near Lake Ann. There's magnificent hiking along the Texas Creek Trail, and Lake Ann is nice enough to spend more than a day at, Rivers End Campground is a nice local campground.

It is a little more difficult now that there is no potable water, but one can use lake water for dishes, and must bring in drinking and cooking water.Fishing is great - the deer put on a show eve4ry night. The camp hostess, Mary, is there is to help you with problems, and to give great advice.Other than the water problem, this is the greatest camp ground I've ever occupied!... |
