Near Andrews Reservoir you come across the Eagle Peak Trail which is a good hiking trail, and you can stay the night at The Forks Campground. Dunton Hot Springs is a wonderful site to get some rest, and Rusty Spring is a beautiful site to explore while you're at Andrews Reservoir. A brilliant spot to stop by right next door to Andrews Reservoir is Long Draw; if you don't mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Dolores River. This

| | lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Days Inn Cortez is a good spot to spend a night or two. At Andrews Reservoir through the summertime months highs are in the 80's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's with temperatures at Andrews Reservoir dipping down into the 10's throughout winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. Andrews Reservoir has to offer, you can camp at Emerson Campground. Don't stop me now, cause I'm havin' a tremendous time here at Andrews Reservoir. The McPhee Stock Trail is a brilliant hiking trail near Andrews Reservoir, and
if you're looking for a great visit, Mesa Verde National Park is pretty near. At Andrews Reservoir you don’t see much rain; the wettest month of the year is typically October, that's the one that rains the most while June is mostly the driest month.

Puett Reservoir
 | 13 miles away A.M. Puett Reservoir was originally constructed in 1905, and then reconstructed in 1960. It contains 163 surface acres when full and is owned and operated by the Summit Reservoir and Irrigation Company. The lake is stocked with fish by the Colorado Division of Wildlife and open for public fishing from the bank and from trolling motor powered boats. No swimming is allowed. The lake is on private land and access is limited to 3 feet above the high water line.... |
Summit Reservoir
 | 13 miles away Summit Lake was constructed in 1905 and reconstructed and enlarged in 1938. It is owned and operated by the Summit Reservoir and Irrigation Company. It contains 402 surfqace acres when full. The lake is stocked with fish by the Colorado Division of Wildlife (DOW) and open for public fishing. Public access is from highway 184 on the north side of the lake. There is a boat ramp. Fishing is allowed from the bank or from hand powered or trolling motor powered boats only. The public access is maintained by the DOW. The only facilities present is a boat ramp and a pit toilet. No fires, swimming or overnight camping is allowed.... |

La Mesa RV Park
 | 19 miles away We stayed in this campground mid-July 2006. Very efficient, friendly park. Adequate power, water, and sewage hookups. Rates were reasonable; and the manager did indicate that longer stays were discounted. Nice fenced dog run for our puppies to enjoy. The microbrewery in town has a wide selection of locally made beverages. I would gladly stop at La Mesa RV Park again.... |
