A great close by hotel is Days Inn Cortez, and nearby Trail Canyon is a good location to go. All through the days of summer, highs generally are in the 80's at Anderson Reservoir. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 50's. Throughout the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's; winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Anderson Reservoir. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike along the Ormiston Point Stock Driveway

on the McPhee Stock Trail. Hiking along the Stoner Stock Trail is tremendous fun, and not far from Anderson Reservoir you'll locate Carlyle Point Reservoir which is a beautiful lake. At Anderson Reservoir you don’t see much rain;
most of the rain falls throughout October while June is the month with the least amount of precipitation. If you need a place to stay Dunton Hot Springs is a glorious choice; why not camp at Cozy Comfort RV Park and Mountain Retreat while you're here at Anderson Reservoir.

Puett Reservoir
 | 11 miles away A.M. Puett Reservoir was originally constructed in 1905, and then reconstructed in 1960. It contains 163 surface acres when full and is owned and operated by the Summit Reservoir and Irrigation Company. The lake is stocked with fish by the Colorado Division of Wildlife and open for public fishing from the bank and from trolling motor powered boats. No swimming is allowed. The lake is on private land and access is limited to 3 feet above the high water line.... |
Summit Reservoir
 | 12 miles away Summit Lake was constructed in 1905 and reconstructed and enlarged in 1938. It is owned and operated by the Summit Reservoir and Irrigation Company. It contains 402 surfqace acres when full. The lake is stocked with fish by the Colorado Division of Wildlife (DOW) and open for public fishing. Public access is from highway 184 on the north side of the lake. There is a boat ramp. Fishing is allowed from the bank or from hand powered or trolling motor powered boats only. The public access is maintained by the DOW. The only facilities present is a boat ramp and a pit toilet. No fires, swimming or overnight camping is allowed.... |

 | 15 miles away We stayed in this campground mid-July 2006. Very efficient, friendly park. Adequate power, water, and sewage hookups. Rates were reasonable; and the manager did indicate that longer stays were discounted. Nice fenced dog run for our puppies to enjoy. The microbrewery in town has a wide selection of locally made beverages. I would gladly stop at La Mesa RV Park again.... |
