Alverjones Lake is located in the San Juan Mountains. All the water falling down from the sky makes Alverjones Lake a wet spot; of all the months in a year March is the one with the most snow, and June on the other hand is the driest. Whohoo, so much amusing stuff in one place! The San Juan Mountains is excellent! Hiking is a popular thing to do around Alverjones Lake; Elk Creek Trail is       a good local trail, and whitewater paddling is wonderful on Conejos River. This lake is so wonderful. Take a hike on the South Fork Trail, and dry warm beds await you at Foster Hotel Bar Restaurant. If you get bored of Alverjones Lake, you could also take a look at close by Burro Lake; after a long day outdoors Red Bear Inn is a pleasant location to spend a night or two. But wait, there's more to do near Alverjones Lake. There's so much to do here at Alverjones                  Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Spectacle Lake Campground is a good site for that, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Ruybalid Trail. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Alverjones Lake has to offer, you can camp at Conejos Campground; get soaked paddling on Rio de los Pinos. For the period of the months of summer at Alverjones Lake highs are generally in the 60's, and through the night it cools down to the 40's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's while Alverjones Lake nighttime low temperatures during the winter are in the 0's. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors entertaining stuff the San Juan Mountains has to offer.
