Alta Lakes is a nice lake to visit. And if you're still looking for more outdoors fun things just keep reading. There is a good hiking trail next to Alta Lakes called the Sheep Trail, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Mineral Creek - South. Gold King Basin is a magnificent location, and Sunshine Campground is a perfect local campground. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors entertaining things the Uncompahgre

| | Plateau Mountains has to offer. You can distinguish Bald Mountain from Alta Lakes, and after a long day outdoors Mountain Lodge At Telluride is a glorious spot to spend a night or two.

a place like Alta Lakes be without out of the ordinary close by highlights like Ophir Needles, and if you're a golfer then a pleasant nearby course is Telluride Ski & Golf Club. Alta Lakes is a beautiful lake in the Uncompahgre Plateau
Mountains. Alta Lakes is a location that is rather dehydrated ordinarily; July is the wettest month with most rain while June is commonly the driest month.
Now, you may believe that's heaps but there's even more exciting stuff
to do here in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. A perfect nearby hotel is Capella Telluride, and since you're here, you could also check out scenic Cushman Lake. On a pleasant day at Alta Lakes you can take a hike along the Deep
Creek Trail, and some nearby water includes Waterfall Creek. Middle Alta Lake Dam is a location that is in the vicinity of Alta Lakes; going for a hike on the Lizard Head Trail is always a glorious adventure.
This lake is so wonderful.
Alta Lakes is next to Spring Gulch which is definitely worth stopping at, and Silverton has great slopes and a friendly staff. And if that's not enough, there's loads more to do in the vicinity of Alta Lakes. There's no such thing
as a bad day of skiing at nearby Telluride, and if you come at the right time of year, San Miguel River offers some pleasant whitewater.
