Allen Pond is right by the Hartman Trail, and if you're here, you could pop by Mill Creek. A magnificent nearby hotel is Econo Lodge Montrose, and hiking along the Through Line Trail is glorious fun. Not far from Allen Pond, you'll find Morrow Point Reservoir which is a striking lake. Around Allen Pond you don’t get a lot of rain; the month with most of the rain is October, and the driest of the months is June.

All through the warmest time of the year here at Allen Pond, high temperatures usually get into the 80's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 50's. lake is so wonderful. There are other places here than Allen Pond, for example Dry Lake; do take a hike on the Cureranti Pass Trail.
I can't stop, cause I'm havin' a fine time here at Allen Pond. If you come at the right time of year, Cimarron River offers some great whitewater, and Commissary Gulch Campground is a good local campground.
