Adams Reservoir is pretty waterless ordinarily; October is the wettest month with most rain, and June on the other hand is the driest. Do stop by Hurst Dam while you're here at Adams Reservoir; on a perfect day you can take a hike along the East Rim Trail. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors enjoyable stuff the area close to Adams Reservoir has to offer. Dolores River has a good whitewater paddling spot       nearby, and close by you hit upon the Chicken Creek Trail which is a great hiking trail. This lake is so wonderful. Really great skiing awaits you at Hesperus Ski Center, and there is a splendid hiking trail nearby called the Whites Trail. After a long day outdoors Echo Basin Dude And Guest Ranch, LLC is a nice site to spend a night or two, and if you came for an overnight stay Wild wild Rest is a delightful site to camp. Throughout the summertime                  months at Adams Reservoir highs are generally in the 80's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's, and nighttime lows at Adams Reservoir during the wintertime regularly drop into the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. Why not camp at Mesa Verde RV Resort while you're here at Adams Reservoir, and if you need a spot to stay Dunton Hot Springs is a great choice.
