Navajo Trail Campground is a fine local campground, and after a long day outdoors Alamosa-Days Inn is a great place to spend a night or two. Adams Lake is a fine spot to visit for more than one day, Alamosa Koa Kampground is a fine spot to camp nearby, and a visit to Great Sand Dunes National Monument is worthwhile. Adams Lake gets very little precipitation; July is when you get the most rain here while January is the month       with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. Inn of the Rio Grande Hotel and Conference Ctr is a good site to get some rest, and a golf course nearby is Alamosa Golf Club. High temperatures at Adams Lake during the days of summer are in the 70's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 40's. For the period of the wintertime the highs are ordinarily in the 30's, and overnight lows at Adams Lake during the winter usually descend into the-10's.
