Around 3 Elk Reservoir you don’t get a lot of rainfall; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain, and the driest of the months is October. If you want a fine time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Sawatch Range. Glide down the rapids of Arkansas River in a kayak; let's not forget Ferris Creek which is a stream that you may encounter during your stay. Skiing at Ski Cooper is one of those       things you just have to do. This lake is so wonderful. If you want to play some golf, you're in luck because Collegiate Peaks Golf Course is around here, and if you come at the right time of year, Arkansas River offers some great whitewater. Berrian Park is right here at 3 Elk Reservoir, and you'll hit upon a charming lake called Rainbow Lake. 3 Elk Reservoir is located in the Sawatch Range. These mountains rock, just look at all the enjoyable stuff to                  do in the Sawatch Range. After a long day outdoors Best Western Vista Inn is a pleasant spot to spend a night or two; fine hiking is available along the South Pine Creek Trail. At 3 Elk Reservoir through the warmest time of the year highs are in the 70's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 30's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's with temperatures at 3 Elk Reservoir dipping down into the-10's throughout winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. 3 Elk Reservoir is a great spot to visit for more than one day, Arkansas River Rim Campground is a great spot to camp nearby, and you can go for a hike on the Harvard Trail. Don't leave 3 Elk Reservoir without first going for a hike along the Wapaca Trail, and Crazyhorse Camping Resort is a nice local campground. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the entertaining things at 3 Elk Reservoir.
