Lacey Valley is a great place to go to close by, and Holiday Inn Express Truckee, Ca is a pleasant spot to get some rest. High temperatures at Lake of The Woods all through the warm months are in the 80's while overnight lows are typically in the 40's. Through the wintertime highs are usually in the 40's; overnight lows in the 10's for Lake of The Woods. This lake is so wonderful. Paddling       on Fordyce Creek is so much fun, and a day on the slopes of Boreal is just what you need. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors The Inn At Truckee is a wonderful location to spend a night or two, and you can stay the night at Independence Lake Campground. You'll beyond doubt wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the exciting stuff in the Northern Sierra Nevada. The snow is wonderful at Royal Gorge, and the Cottonwood Botanical Trail is a brilliant                  hiking trail close by. Near Lake of The Woods you come across the Cottonwood Overlook Trail which is a good hiking trail; Lake of The Woods is not the only place nearby, White Rock Lake is a nearby lake. At Lake of The Woods you don’t see much precipitation; January is the wettest month with most snow, and July is the month with the least moisture.
