The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Lake Winifred. Dry warm beds await you at Squaw Valley Lodge, and Silver Creek - South Fork has a wonderful whitewater paddling spot nearby. The Northern Sierra Nevada scenery is always beautiful. A great deal of rain falls at       Lake Winifred; the month of January is the wettest with most of the rain while July is regularly the driest month. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Homewood while you're here, and if you need a site to stay Village at Squaw Valley is a nice choice. Whitewater paddling is delightful on American River - South Fork, and Rubicon Springs is always fun to check out. This lake is so wonderful. Skiing at Alpine Meadows is one of those things                  you just should do, and there are other sites here than Lake Winifred, for example Hidden Lake. All the outdoors entertaining stuff in close proximity to Lake Winifred will keep you coming back repeatedly. Lake Winifred is right by the Highland Trail, and if you're looking for some flowing water? Try Miller Creek. There's no way anyone can get bored here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Brown Mountain is pretty and can be made out from Lake Winifred, and Pleasant Boat-In Campground is a great local campground. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking along the Loon Lake Trail is nice fun, and Spider Lake is a fine lake close by. Yep, outdoors fun things truly is abundant here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Lake Winifred is a nice place to visit for more than one day, Wentworth Springs Campground is a nice place to camp nearby; going for a hike along the Red Peak Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity.
