    The beauty of Wilson Reservoir is reason enough to stop by. This lake is one of the great places here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Life's too short to enjoy all the amusing stuff in the Northern Sierra Nevada. If you need a location to stay Comfort Inn Central is a great choice; nearby you locate tremendous sites like Spring Valley Gulch. This lake is so wonderful. A glorious nearby hotel is Oroville-Days Inn, and whitewater paddling is splendid on Butte Creek.
 
   Here at Wilson Reservoir you'll possibly meet some people from Chico; on a pretty day you get a great view of North Table Mountain from Wilson Reservoir. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 90's to Wilson Reservoir. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 50's while Wilson Reservoir nighttime low temperatures through the winter are in the 30's. An average amount of precipitation falls  
               at Wilson Reservoir; January is the month that gets the most rain, and July on the other hand is the driest.
A pleasant tour to Campbell Flat is a magnificent way to spend an afternoon, and while you're here, you could also go to delightful Morgan Reservoir. So many amusing things in the Northern Sierra Nevada, just unbelievable. A journey to Wilson Reservoir wouldn't be complete without taking a look at Dutch Pete Spring; Goat Ranch Campground is a pleasant local campground. This lake is so wonderful. Littlefield Reservoir is a nearby lake that you could visit, and Feather River - North Fork has a delightful whitewater paddling spot close by.
All the outdoors amusing stuff near Wilson Reservoir will keep you coming back persistently. Kelly Ridge Golf Course is a brilliant golf course close by, and Wilson Reservoir is a good site to visit for more than one day, Feather West Travel Trailer is a good site to camp nearby.

...ion reads like an all out Butte Co. Ad. All that stuff is great though and easy to get to. As for Horseshoe Lake itself, it's very small, with poor fishing. It has a small dock, an indoor gun range, a humble yet awesome space observatory, and the golf course running behind all of it. Also bathrooms,  parking, water, dog poop bags, line recyclers. On the Lake's side of the road, it is legal to have your dog off-leash as long as he is 'under control'. Local dogs love it here and they all seem very friendly. The real beauty is the surrounding area of Bidwell Park. The trails going from there into Upper Park, run along both sides of the creek, and make for a very easy walk. There's fantastic scenery as you get closer to Salmon Hole, a very popular swimming spot, but the ''climb'' down to those calm waters amid the turbulent creek is a little steep for children and less sure footed people. Stick along the edge of the canyon as it gradually rises and you'll be treated to a nice sunset over the way you just came, with the winding canyon and it's white waters.
