A visit to Willow Lake is always a good idea. Willow Lake is commonly a rather waterless spot; the wettest month of the year is frequently January, that's the one that rains the most while August is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This is a tremendous vicinity for people who like lakes. Clifton Court Forebay is a lake around here, and do schedule some time to explore Cabrillo Bay if you have a chance. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 50's, and overnight lows at Willow Lake through the wintertime regularly sink into the 30's. After a long day outdoors Comfort Suites Oakley is a nice location to spend a night or two. Don't you try to stop me, cause I'm havin' a magnificent time here at Willow Lake. Brentwood, Ca is a delightful site to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Swamps like Indian Slough are fun to pop by, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop by close by Turner Lake. Stay the
night at Bentley's Marina and RV Park, and there's whitewater on Arroyo Mocho River for all you adrenaline people. There's some flowing water nearby, Kellogg Creek is a stream you can stop at while you're here. There's so much to do here at Willow Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Bethel Island Park is a magnificent place for that.

Carnegie Ohv State Recreation

Carnegie SVRA has dry rocky washes, rolling hills, and steep, rugged canyons. Riders will find a variety of terrain, including some extremely challenging hills. The park is home to a beautiful display of spring wildflowers. If you look closely you'll see animal life, including red-tailed hawks, golden eagles, black-tailed deer, coyotes, and bobcats.
There are 23 designated campsites and overflow camping available to the public. Carnegie is a great place to spend the night recovering from a hard day's riding and preparing for the next day. Camping is only $10. 00 per night per vehicle and is available on a first-come, first served basis. Call ahead during the winter riding season to make sure sites are available, as the campground fills early on weekends (925) 447-9027.
Campsites can have tents and RVs of any size and include a fire pit and a shade structure. Two bathrooms are available with water, toilets, and coin-operated showers. No RV hookups or dumping station are available. The water at Carnegie is potable, but you might want to bring extra drinking wa... |

 | 17 miles away 1 PHOTO This is a seasonal creek, not a river. The picture below is from early April. The only possible way to kayak or raft this would be during or immediately after a major storm. And the brush on the creek banks would likely be your undoing. I've never heard of anyone ever kayaking this creek.
