Throughout the warmest time of the year at Whisky Lake highs are regularly in the 80's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 40's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Whisky Lake drop into the 30's. This lake is so wonderful. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Elk Camp Ridge Trail is always a splendid adventure, and
get yourself into a kayak and hit Hurdygurdy Creek.
Get soaked paddling on Trace Creek, and Whisky Lake is tremendous enough to spend more than a day at, Lone Mountain RV Resort is a tremendous local campground. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Coast Ranges. People from Grants Pass love to come to Whisky Lake; if you've had enough of Whisky Lake, Bear Wallow is nearby. On a gorgeous day you obtain a sight of Chicago Peak from Whisky Lake. There's so

much to do here at Whisky Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Twin Pines Cafe and RV is a fine place for that.
Whisky Lake is one of the lakes here in the Coast Ranges. Be careful coming to Whisky Lake, you might not ever want to go home again. If time allows, Oregon Caves National Monument is a national park worth taking a look at, and a fine site to take a look at is Sanger Canyon. But wait, there's more entertaining stuff to do in the Coast Ranges. There is a nice hiking trail near Whisky Lake called the Clear Creek National Recreation Trail, naturally you could also explore Sanger Lake if you're here; it's not far at all.
All the water falling down from the sky makes Whisky Lake a wet place; the month of December is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month is July.

Lone Mountain RV Resort
...in crystal-clear water. The upscale RV park is in the community of O'Brien, 15 miles north of the California border, near major tourist attractions, and within 45 minutes of six lakes and three rivers. The park sits 300 feet off Redwood Highway 199, the Mystic Corridor scenic byway that connects the Redwood National Park in California with Crater Lake National Park in Oregon.
The park has 32 RV spaces in a well-landscaped area of nearly four acres, with an adjoining nature trail and creek. There are laundry facilities, a volleyball grass court, horseshoe pits and a gazebo and picnic area with a barbecue. A grocery store and steak house are within walking distance. Lone Mountain RV Resort is built on property that has been in one family for nearly 100 years. It was purchased by Herbert Woodbury in 1910, and then went to his son, Bill, in 1950, and to Bill's son Glenn in 1990. Owners Glenn and Lori Woodbury said the park is situated in an ideal setting. There are hundreds of things to do and enjoy so you don't waste fuel traveling from place to place,'' Glenn Woodbury said.

Dry Lake
18 miles away
1 PHOTO
Dry Lake is NOT a good place to camp, or fish. Forest Service has failed to keep water weeds and water lilies out which is destroying the fishery. Summer days are HOT, winters cold, lots of bugs in summer. At the present rate of invasive water weeds, this lake will be a marsh bog in a few years....
