All year is a delightful time in the Northern Sierra Nevada if you like the outdoors. The Warren Lake Trail offers hiking at its best, and of course, this is a great area for people who like lakes, Azalea Lake is a lake in the neighborhood. And that's not all you can do here at West Lakes. Fordyce Creek is a fine whitewater spot near West Lakes. This lake is so wonderful. Take a hike on the       Mount Lola Trail, and if you're a golfer then a fine nearby course is Tahoe Donner Golf Course. If you came to camp Onion Creek Campground is a good spot to do that, and you're probably keen on lakes, Lytton Lake is one of those nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Very lovely scenery and splendid skiing is what you get at Boreal, and if you need a place to stay Holiday Inn Express TRUCKEE is a brilliant choice. West Lakes gets a lot of water; the month with most                  of the rain is January, and the driest of the months is July. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors entertaining things the area right next door to West Lakes has to offer. You can run the rapids of Yuba River - South Fork close to West Lakes, and The Inn at Truckee is a magnificent site to get some rest. West Lakes is right by the Lola Montez Trail; you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Donner Ski Ranch since you're here. Life's too short to enjoy all the amusing stuff in the Northern Sierra Nevada. A wonderful place right next door to West Lakes is Castle Pass, and at West Lakes you can spot Andesite Peak. At West Lakes through the long summer days highs are in the 80's, and the night is a tad chillier of course, regularly in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at West Lakes. Don't leave West Lakes without first checking out Frog Lake Cliff.
