It is very arid here at Warren Lake mostly; January is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest of the months is June. Through the long summer days at Warren Lake highs are regularly in the 90's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 50's. For the period of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 50's; winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Warren Lake. This lake is so wonderful. | | you can go for a hike along the Kings River Trail, and popping by Devils Postpile National Monument is just something you need to do if you haven't yet.
This lake is located in the wonderful Central Sierra Nevada. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Super 8 Bishop is a delightful place to spend a night or two, and camping at Brown's Campgrounds is always a fine experience.

ever want to go back home again. Bishop Country Club is a magnificent golf course nearby; there is a nice hiking trail close by called the Discovery Trail. If you need a place to stay Americas Best Value Inn/Bishop is a great choice,
and Warren Lake is not the only site close by, Saunders Lake is a close by lake. Yeah, come up here to the Central Sierra Nevada for a pleasant time. The John Muir Trail - Pacific Crest Section is a great hiking trail close to Warren
Lake, and a great spot to camp here at Warren Lake is Sage Flat Campground.
If only every site had this much outdoors amusing stuff, what a great planet it would be. Interesting geology is available here; Rolling Green Terrace is next to Warren Lake, and if you get bored of Warren Lake you could also go to nearby Klondike Lake.

The only way to drop a kayak in Kings river is a very long drive (maybe 4-5 hours) to the west side or the range, or lugging it through the wilderness (over the spine). I think I would have to give a gold medal to anyone who would lug a kayak from Big Trees to Kings river. Just a heads-up.... |

I have such fond memories of family trips to Sabrina and camping just up from the lake on the stream side. Don't know what the campground name was or even if it had a name back in thoes days. It was every summer in 1960's. First went there when I was a baby. My parents packed back in several times. Anyway, my Dad died a few months ago and he always said he wanted to go back before he died. I like to think that he is there somewhere fishing that stream by the campground that we all loved so much. Fond Fond memories.... |
