California has many beautiful lakes and Ward Lake is one of them. These mountains rock, just check out all the enjoyable stuff to do in the Central Sierra Nevada. Mammoth Mountain is a very popular ski area close at hand; whitewater paddling is glorious on Mono Creek. Life's too short to enjoy all the enjoyable things near Ward Lake. The Sherwin Lakes Trail offers hiking at its best, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Ward Lake; Red Mountain Trail is a wonderful local trail. Stay the night at Florence Lake Campground; San Joaquin River - South Fork has a good whitewater paddling spot close
by. Ward Lake is commonly a relatively dried up place; January is when you get the most rain here, and June is when it's the driest. The Central Sierra Nevada scenery is always beautiful.

During the days of summer at Ward Lake highs are regularly in the 70's; the nighttime is rather chillier of course, ordinarily in the 40's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 40's while Ward Lake nighttime low temperatures
