This lake is so wonderful. This lake is so wonderful. You have to undeniably stop at Kearsarge Pinnacles while you're here at Vidette Lakes, and if you need a place to stay Best Western Frontier Motel is a pleasant choice. There are great places to look at along the Sawtooth Pass Trail, and if you've had enough of Vidette Lakes, Charlotte Lake is close by. Be careful coming to Vidette Lakes, you might not ever want to return back home again. You get a

| | perfect vista of Deerhorn Mountain from Vidette Lakes, naturally you could also stop by Bullfrog Lake if you're here; it's not far at all. So many amusing things to do here in the Southern Sierra Nevada, too great to be true. Vidette Lakes is brilliant enough to spend more than a day at, Symmes Creek Campground is a brilliant local campground, and going for a hike on the Mount Whitney Trail is always a pleasant adventure. summer highs are in the 70's, and all through the night it cools down to the 50's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 40's while Vidette Lakes overnight low temperatures during the winter are in the 20's.
There's some flowing water close by, Vidette Creek is a stream you can stop by during your stay, and a delightful place to camp here at Vidette Lakes is Fort Independence Campground. Man, is there a load of cool things to do in the
Southern Sierra Nevada. Near Vidette Lakes you come across the Pacific Crest Trail - section 11 which is a perfect hiking trail, and if you're here at Vidette Lakes it's a good idea to stop by Lower Vidette Meadow. Vidette Lakes is
one of the lakes here in the Southern Sierra Nevada. A typical amount of precipitation falls here at Vidette Lakes; January is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest of the months is July.

We have three campgrounds close by, Goodale campground (BLM) one mile to the west, continue up Goodale rd. Taboose campground (Inyo County) one mile to the north on Tinemaha rd. and Tinemaha campground (Inyo County) four miles to the north, paved access from Fish Springs turn off, then up Tinemaha rd.  | 17 miles away This is a picture I took of Moose Lake on a lengthy loop hike in the Sequoias taking the Lakes trail past Heather, Astor, Emerald, and Pear Lakes; then cross country over the divide above Moose Lake where I took this photograph looking down on the lake. I then returned to the trailhead by going southwest over the divide down to the Alta Trail through Panther Gap back to the Lakes trailhead. A very long day hike.
