     For the duration of the warmest time of the year here at Upper Sunset Lake, high temperatures typically get into the 70's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 40's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's, and during the dark hours in the wintertime at Upper Sunset Lake temperatures plunge to the 10's. Be careful coming to Upper Sunset Lake, you might not ever wanna go back home again. Upper Sunset Lake is a location with many visitors from Gardnerville  
   Ranchos; Hermit Valley Campground is a glorious campground nearby. Just can't get enough of the Northern Sierra Nevada. Dry warm beds await you at The Meadow, and everyone close by loves skiing at Kirkwood.
Upper Sunset Lake is a beautiful lake in the Northern Sierra Nevada. In the event that you don’t have a problem getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Carson River - East Fork; nearby you hit upon the Pacific Crest Trail - section 13
 
               which is a magnificent hiking trail. If you want a pleasant time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Upper Sunset Lake.
This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors The Mountain Club is a fine spot to spend a night or two, and if you came for an overnight stay Lower Blue Lake Campground is a pleasant site to camp. This lake is so wonderful. There's some flowing water nearby, Jeff Davis Creek is a stream you can take a look at during your stay, and there are other sites here than Upper Sunset Lake, for example Lily Pad Lake. Do set aside some time for Indian Valley since you're here at Upper Sunset Lake, and the slopes of Bear Valley are so inviting noone can resist.
And if that's not sufficient there's lots more enjoyable things to do in the Northern Sierra Nevada. On a brilliant day at Upper Sunset Lake you can take a hike along the Charity Valley Trail, and not far from Upper Sunset Lake you'll stumble on Lower Sunset Lake which is a gorgeous lake. There is a tremendous hiking trail in close proximity to Upper Sunset Lake called the Burnside Lake Trail, and not far from Upper Sunset Lake you get some glorious water scenery at Summit Lake Dam. Upper Sunset Lake is a wet place that gets a great deal of rainfall; through the month of January you get the most snow around here; the driest of the months is July.
