Lusk Meadows is a good site to check out, and going for a hike along the Pacific Crest Trail - section 15 will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area. So much cool stuff to do in the Northern Sierra Nevada, not enough time. Have a great hiking adventure       along the Deer Lake Trail, and Chalet View Lodge is a nice location to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Not far from Upper Salmon Lake you get some tremendous water scenery at Upper Salmon Lake Dam, and if the weather is good, you can go for a hike along the Butcher Ranch Trail. There are other sites here than Upper Salmon Lake, for example Deer Lake, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Yuba River                  - North Fork. For the duration of the warmest time of the year at Upper Salmon Lake temperatures are typically in the 90's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 40's. All through the winter the highs are generally in the 40's; overnight lows at Upper Salmon Lake through the wintertime generally fall into the 20's. If you need a place to stay Chalet View Lodge is a magnificent choice; hey, Gotta ski right? Royal Gorge is a glorious spot to do that. Be careful coming to Upper Salmon Lake, you might not ever wanna go home again. If you came to camp Berger Campground is a wonderful place to do that; there's whitewater on Lavezzola Creek for all you adrenaline rush seekers. This lake is so wonderful. Church Creek is a brilliant local stream. There's so much to do here at Upper Salmon Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Diablo Campground is a great place for that.
