Go for a hike on the Ruth Hayfork Trail, and soar down the rapids of Eel River in a kayak. If only every place had this much outdoors exciting stuff, what a great globe it would be. Going for a hike on the Ben Arthur Trail is always a delightful adventure, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Eel River - North Fork. Upper Lake is located in the Coast Ranges. Summer brings highs in the 80's to       Upper Lake. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 50's. Highs during the wintertime are generally in the 40's; after the sun is down throughout the wintertime temperatures at Upper Lake dip into the 30's. All year is a fine time in the Coast Ranges if you fancy the outdoors. There are other places here than Upper Lake, for example Lower Lake; nearby you come across the Ben Duncan Mailbox Trail which is a good hiking trail. A splendid vista of wonderful Moose                  Peak is available from Upper Lake, and Upper Lake is a fine place to visit for more than one day, Fir Cove Campground is a fine place to camp nearby. This lake is so wonderful. A lot of rain falls at Upper Lake; the wettest month of the year is mostly December, that's the one that rains the most; July is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Best Western Humboldt House Inn, and Bailey Canyon Campground is a delightful campground nearby. Life's too short to enjoy all the amusing things in the Coast Ranges.
